Fraternal Support

The most important tenets of Freemasonry are Brotherly Love, Relief, and Truth.

Over 100 years ago, California Master Masons founded the Masonic Homes of California in order that they might relieve the distress of their worthy brethren, their wives, widows and mothers, and children with or without a Masonic affiliation. Today there are two facilities, one in Union City, and the other in Covina, both providing care in the form of independent living, assisted living, and skilled nursing care. In addition, people with Alzheimer's and dementia receive care specific to their needs at the Union City facility.

For those people who wish to remain in their own homes, or in a care facility within their home communities, the Masonic Homes provides assistance through the Masonic Outreach Services (MOS) program. MOS helps by providing financial assistance, identifying local resources, and developing a care plan that allows the individual to stay healthy and safe in their own homes or in retirement facilities in their home communities.

For more information regarding the Masonic Homes or the MOS program, visit www.masonichome.org, or call toll free (888) 466-3642.

You may also contact the Secretary or Assistant Secretary of Downey United #220 at (562) 862-4176 to discuss your situation and be put in touch with further resources.
