From the East

Greetings from the east
Greetings Brethren, it’s “Carlos from the East” signing on! Boy that sounds good! First and foremost, I would like to thank Worshipful Sergio Martinez and his lady Martha Martinez for a great 2011! I hope that my wife Josie and I can do the same for you this year. We have some interesting ideas that we are going to implement and we have some exciting places that we are going to visit. Secondly, Josie and I would like to thank all of you who attended the 142nd Annual Installation of Officers. It was overwhelming to see so many cherished and loved faces in the audience, I hope you all enjoyed yourselves and I hope that you all enjoyed the meal afterward. thanks go out to all of the people who assisted us in the decoration of the dining room and the people who assisted us on Installation day. Special thanks go out to Bob Udo for the ongoing help that he oers to all of us on a daily basis.
So, let’s get started! January is over and now we are diving head first straight into February with our first Stated Meeting on Feb 2nd (for Masons only). This stated Meeting is also the reception of the 1018 Masonic District Inspector Worshipful Max Rush. All officers are to be in Tuxedo and polished shoes, please wear your bolo ties as well. We wil be opening lodge early at 6:00pm (I will need all of the offiicers at the lodge no later than 5:45pm) We will then go to refreshment and enjoy some food provided by Mambo Grill. At 7:15pm we will retire to the lodge room and start promptly at 7:30pm. I promise a quick and concise meeting. Aftter the meeting we will enjoy some dessert and have our very first “Masonic Roundtable discussion in the dining room. The topic of this discussion is “Why you became a Mason”.
Our first Family night will be “Sweethearts Night” on Feb 16th. The food will be prepared by Rio Hondo Country Club, and we will enjoy it while listening to some romantic dinner music. After dinner we will be giving away some door prizes to some lucky people and then retiring to the lodge room where we will present our first “Golden Veterans Award” for the year, to Brother Lucien Bone for 50 years of Masonic service.
After the presentation we will continue to be entertained by “Rush Robinson” who will play some romantic selections for us. I look forward to a very nice evening! And because Josie and I are practicing “Family First” this year, please bring your entire family with you, this includes your kids, grandma and grandpa, and yes, even uncle Ned as well! Just do not forget to RSVP. Hope to see you all there!
